Yango Ghana Celebrates the Second International Digital Mobility Awards

Yango Ghana, a subsidiary of the international tech firm Yango Group, proudly announces the recipients of the second iteration of the Yango Digital Mobility Awards in Ghana. This ceremony was held recently. On Thursday, April 10th, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra Designed to honor and acknowledge the accomplishments of Yango’s Partners, as well as partner drivers, passengers, and other participants who have significantly contributed to the field of digital transportation in Ghana.

Dr. Samuel Antwi-Gyekyi, Bishop and Director of Information Communication Technology Acting on behalf of the Minister of Communications, he underscored the government’s dedication to advancing digital mobility solutions such as Yango in Ghana. He underlined the significance of cultivating a conducive atmosphere for digital creativity, capable of improving transport efficacy and stimulating local economies. He also pointed out the necessity for cooperation between governmental bodies, the business community, and various parties involved to adhere to regulatory benchmarks and address the requirements of Ghanaians effectively. Furthermore, he mentioned that their approach would emphasize policy-making aimed at encouraging technical progress while maintaining safety, availability, and environmental responsibility within the realm of digital transit systems.

The award ceremony gathered key figures from industries, government officials, and business founders to encourage discussion and cooperation within the swiftly changing landscape of digital transportation. Yango Ghana reaffirmed its dedication to adhering to national rules, safeguarding user information, and respecting privacy concerns.

Driver of the year—Ernest Dogbe

Mr. Ernest Dogbe was crowned the YDMA "Driver of the Year." He arrived at his house with a brand new Suzuki S-Presso, which stood as the pinnacle award of the evening. The remaining nine finalists were presented with smartphones, fuel coupons, complimentary diagnostic services, servicing vouchers, and additional gifts.

A major victor for the evening is Mr. Immortal, the CEO of Foodstuff Home, who received the Partner of the Year award. He conveyed his thanks to Yango for recognizing and valuing his efforts within the realm of ride-hailing and digital mobility. Acknowledging the assistance and education he has benefited from, which propelled his enterprise forward, he accepted three accolades during the ceremony.
