Zimbabwe Cricket states that they have not approved the Bulawayo Shutdown concert featuring Winky D and Uncle Waffles scheduled for April 26 at Queens Sports Club.
Circulating flyers for the Bulawayo Shutdown concert indicate Queens Sports Club as the designated venue; however, the facility’s managers, Zimbabwe Cricket, have stated they will pursue legal measures against the organizers behind this misleading information.
Local and regional musicians such as Winky D, Uncle Waffles, Zee Nxumalo, EEMOH, DJ Tira, Nasty C, Emtee, Enzo Ishall, Oriyano, Bazooker, Killer T, and Mzoe 7 are scheduled to appear at the event.
Zimbabwe Cricket stated that they will not approve any non-cricket events at the Queen’s Sports Club.
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has expressed worry over the distribution of advertisements wrongly stating that a music performance is set to occur at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on April 26, 2025.
ZC explicitly states that it has not provided permission to the organizers of the mentioned event for hosting a concert at Queens Sports Club, which will be the location for our forthcoming Test series.
All assertions to the contrary are deceptive and ought to be ignored.
"The caretakers of the venue, ZC’s primary focus continues to be the sport of cricket. We will not allow the scheduled concert or any other events unrelated to cricket to occur at Queens Sports Club. Consequently, ZC firmly advises the organizers of the show to refrain from deceiving the public through erroneous promotions," states the announcement.
Zimbabwe will be hosting Test matches against South Africa and New Zealand in June and August at the Queens Sports Club.
