Laia Costa Teams Up with Jack Reynor in Lee Cronin’s Horror Thriller 'The Mummy'

Washington D.C., [USA], March 25 (ANI): The long-anticipated horror movie ' The Mummy The film directed by Lee Cronin has also included Laia Costa Regarding its cast, the actress will appear opposite Jack Reynor in this new interpretation of the iconic monster tale, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The publication states that New Line Cinema is behind the production of the film, with renowned horror producers Atomic Monster and Blumhouse supporting the initiative as well. Filming will commence this week in Ireland, and the movie is scheduled for release on April 17, 2026.

Although details of the storyline remain undisclosed, sources indicate that Costa and Reynor will portray a wedded duo. This family, which includes their daughter, is set to face a bone-chilling confrontation with an age-old mummy.

Last December, Cronin revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, "'This film will stand apart from all previous Mummy movies. I am delving deeply into the ground to summon an entity that is both incredibly old and terribly terrifying.'"

The movie is jointly funded by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. The producers involved are James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville. Serving as executive producers are Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Macdara Kelleher.

Laia Costa is a well-known actress in European cinema, and has earned acclaim for her role in Victoria, a German crime thriller. She has starred in films like Newness, Life Itself, and Lullaby, winning a Goya Award for Best Actress. Recently, she appeared in Amazon's fantasy series Wheel of Time as Moghedien.
