Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has formally endorsed the appointment of members to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 23rd National Sports Festival, which is called 'Enugu 2026'.

On Monday, Mr. Daniel Onwuegbulam, who serves as the Director of Information at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in Enugu State, made this disclosure in a statement released in Enugu.

As stated, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ekwerem, is serving as the chairman of the committee.

Onwuegbulam stated that the group also comprised experienced professionals with significant expertise in sports administration, event organization, and young person development.

The list includes Bamiduro Olumide, Mary Onyali, Aku Akazu, Victor Okorie, Blessing Ekwe, Davidson Owumi, Tony Ugwu, Henry Okorie, and Jonathan Nnaji.

Boniface Onovo and Ephraim Ochonma serve as the Directors of Organizing and Coaching, respectively, representing the Enugu State Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Completing the roster is Obiora Obasi, who serves as the Technical Assistant to the Commissioner at the Enugu State Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The director stated that the State Government showed complete trust in the committee’s capability to arrange and execute a remarkable National Sports Festival.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the National Sports Commission (NSC) granted Enugu State the privilege to host the 2026 National Sports Festival last year. (NAN)
