Colleen Hoover’s 'Verity': Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson Star in Upcoming Theatrical Release

Washington D.C., [USA], March 25 (ANI): The movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover 's novel ' Verity ' featuring Anne Hathaway,' Dakota Johnson Josh Hartnett starring in the leading role has at last received a release date, as reported byDeadline.

The Amazon MGM Studios-led adaptation of Colleen Hoover The novelist's work is scheduled for theatrical release on May 15th of next year. Director Michael Showalter will helm the project. The screenplay is currently penned by writer Nick Antosca.

As reported by Deadline, the adaptation created by Nick Antosca revolves around a struggling writer named Lowen Ashleigh, who gets hired as a ghostwriter for a well-known author. Verity Crawford dies under enigmatic circumstances. However, her mission becomes increasingly ominous upon uncovering disturbing autobiographical writings. Confronted with a sequence of lethal familial secrets, Lowen finds herself grappling to distinguish between fact and fiction, all while complicating the boundaries. Verity 's husband, Jeremy.

The previous contributors to the screenplay were Hoover & Lauren Levine, Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, and Will Honley & April Maguire. According toDeadline, the movie is being produced by Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Showalter, Jordana Molnick, Hathaway, and Hoover.

The film adapts Colleen Hoover's previous work, "It Ends With Us," featuring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni as the main characters. This surprise success became one of the season’s hits, grossing over $346 million globally at the box office.

As reported by Variety, Hoover's book 'صند Verity The book was published by the author itself in 2018 and was subsequently obtained by Grand Central Publishing in 2021.

It has been on the New York Times Best Sellers list for several months and sold over one million copies in just 2023.

In "Madame Web," Johnson portrays a psychic paramedic and has a loose connection to Sony Pictures’ film lineup, encompassing movies like the "Venom" series and 2022’s "Morbius," featuring Jared Leto.
