Bangladesh Signs James Pamment as New Fielding Coach

Dhaka [Bangladesh], April 7 (ANI): James Pamment has taken up the role of fielding coach for the Bangladesh men's national cricket team.

The fielding expert, who previously played for New Zealand cricket, will join the team before the Test series against Zimbabwe scheduled for later this month.

Pamment's agreement will last until the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.

“I’m thrilled about the chance to work with such a skilled Bangladeshi team,” stated Pamment according to an ICC release. “I can’t wait to meet up with the players and support staff before the Zimbabwe series,” he further commented.

The individual, who is 56 years old, served as an assistant coach for the IPL team Mumbai Indians starting in 2018, but departed from the position towards the end of last year.

He was additionally appointed as the Head Coach for the Northern District Cricket Association in New Zealand and functioned as a High Performance Coach for New Zealand Cricket. He has also had roles including Fielding Resource Coach and Specialist Technical Advisor for various levels of New Zealand cricket teams such as the senior side, New Zealand A, and the under-19 squad.

He was included in the Black Caps' coaching team for the home series against Pakistan in 2011 and has had short stints as the interim coach of the United States national squad.

Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe next in a two-test match series at home, beginning on April 20 in Sylhet. (ANI)
