

Haridwar (Uttarakhand), India, March 20 (ANI): In response to the recent incidents in Nagpur, Maharashtra On Thursday, renowned yoga master Swami Ramdev denounced the praise for Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, describing him as an emblem of brutality and tyranny.
"Given that Aurangzeb incarcerated his father, deprived him of food and water, and murdered his brother, he cannot serve as an ideal for India," Ramdev asserted.
He stressed that although traces of past "slavery" ought not to be maintained, their elimination should occur in a peaceful manner.
"Nobody should maintain the symbols of slavery, yet we aim to achieve this without resorting to violence. These symbols ought to be eliminated in a peaceful manner," he emphasized.
Violent confrontations broke out in Nagpur on March 17 due to demands for the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb. Stones were thrown at law enforcement officers following rumors that a sacred scripture belonging to a particular group had been burned during protests.
In the meantime, things have returned to normal with the lifting of curfews in various regions.
In a recent development, Maharashtra The police's cyber unit stated that one of the accused in the case is Nagpur violence "altered and shared videos" and "romanticized acts of violence" on social media, resulting in the unrest escalating across different areas of the city.
"He (Faheem Khan), owing to his actions, edited and disseminated the footage of the protest against Aurangzeb, leading to widespread riots. Additionally, he promoted content featuring violence," stated Cyber Cell’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lohit Matani to ANI.
The authorities have filed four First Information Reports related to the riots that occurred on Monday evening in Nagpur.
"Four First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed. The first FIR states that videos depicting protests against Aurangzeb were manipulated and disseminated with violent content being highlighted. The second report concerns the creation and distribution of footage portraying acts of violence to incite conflict between two groups. The third involves several postings intended to escalate tensions even further," explained Matani.
The accused, Faheem Khan, was taken into custody on March 19 and remains in detention until Friday, March 21. Khan holds a leadership position within the Minorities Democratic Party. (ANI)
