The chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, stated that Sir Syed University upholds both the Two-Nation Theory and the visionary ideals set forth by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Our commitment includes supporting this educational institution through all feasible means. Established as part of the Pakistan Denmark initiative, we aim to extend benefits to youths nationwide, not just within Punjab but throughout all regions. Moreover, the Digital Youth Hub stands out globally as a distinctive platform which was inaugurated on March 26th. This hub now counts more than 2 million young registrants and showcases over 100 enterprises providing job prospects. Additionally, efforts are underway for the introduction of our inaugural National Youth Policy.
When launching the Youth Employment Policy, he stated that approvals have been obtained for seven advanced AI laboratories throughout Pakistan, including one planned for establishment in Karachi. At present, our emphasis is on investments. During the Prime Minister’s recent trip to Belarus, offers were made providing 150,000 job opportunities to individuals from Pakistan.
The chancellor of Sir Syed University, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, mentioned that his father, Engineer Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan, was one of the founding members of the university. Together with his peers, they established a principle stating that no student entering Sir Syed University would fail to obtain a degree because of financial difficulties; such economic hardships should not hinder educational progress. We plan to reinstate efforts aimed at assisting those students whose education has been interrupted by challenging conditions.
He mentioned that the Prime Minister Youth Program, developed in partnership with UNICEF, stands out as an exemplary model of advancement and success. The program’s Digital Youth Hub offers a platform designed to link young people with employment prospects, educational resources, entrepreneurial ventures, and much more. Remarkably, the Prime Minister's initiative has been highly effective in promoting self-reliance and empowerment amongst Pakistani youths.
Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan suggested a partnership between Sir Syed University and the Prime Minister Youth Program to create a Digital Youth Hub in Karachi. He stated that Sir Syed University has offered land for constructing a facility where up to 22.4 million youths could gain access to educational resources and professional guidance provided by the university. This initiative aims to foster significant progress and unlock the capabilities of young individuals.
The Vice Chancellor of SSUET, Dr. Jafar Nazir Usmani, emphasized that young people form a crucial part of our community and significantly contribute to building the nation. As the creators of tomorrow, they propel both societal progress and economic growth. Their zeal, innovation, and willingness to question established norms position them as key drivers of beneficial transformation.
Dr. Jafar Usmani emphasized that AI, as a burgeoning technology, serves as a potent instrument for empowering young people. As we advance into a new epoch, it becomes our shared duty to adopt this technology and mold it for societal enhancement. The contribution of universities in this progression is noteworthy, acting as nurseries for education, invention, and ethical guidelines concerning AI. By concentrating on how AI can uplift us and open pathways toward a more prosperous future for upcoming generations, progress can be achieved.
The Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Kashif Sheikh, mentioned that they are considering a plan to establish two advanced artificial intelligence laboratories at Sir Syed University.
