
Poland might transform its eastern frontier into a mined zone following its formal withdrawal. Ottawa Convention, which prohibits the usage of anti-personnel mines.
Based on reports from Polish media outlets RMF24 , the move aims to prevent a potential Russian invasion as Warsaw braces for possible threats from its neighboring adversaries.
The Polish administration further declared that they would distribute survival manuals to citizens before the year ends.
During an interview on Tuesday, Paweł Bejda The Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense spoke about the nation's choice to withdraw from the agreement, stating: " There is no alternative. The circumstances at the frontier are critical. I am referring to the boundaries between Poland and Belarus as well as Poland and Russia (...). This will form part of the Eastern Shield initiative.
He further added: I wish to express that our apprehensions regarding Belarus’s actions verge on being certain; they seem almost entirely dictated by Russia. Whatever Putin decides, Lukashenko appears ready to endorse. It should be noted that the attack on Ukraine originated from Belarusian territory. While we lack anti-personnel mines, we possess the capacity to manufacture them.
