Maharashtra's Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Vows Action Against Kunal Kamra Row, Promises Strict Legal Measures

Mumbai (Maharashtra), India, March 26 (ANI): In the midst of controversy surrounding stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra , who has found himself at the center of controversy due to his comments made alongside the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde , Deputy CM Ajit Pawar mentioned on Tuesday that the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has stated that measures will be implemented according to the law.

"Our CM Devendra Fadnavis "Regarding this issue, our Chief Minister stated that actions will be carried out according to the law," Pawar explained to journalists when elaborating on the stance of the Maharashtra government.

Minister CM Fadnavis has firmly addressed the controversial comments made by the stand-up comedian. Kunal Kamra against Eknath Shinde The Chief Minister, when addressing the state Legislative Assembly on Monday, declared that the administration would not tolerate expressions of freedom leading to despotism.

The Chief Minister stated, "We value humor and satire. While we embrace political satire, we do not condone freedom of expression when it results in despotism."

He stated that Kamra staged "low-quality" comedy. "This artist makes statements against the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice; he wants to gain fame by creating controversy. He targeted Eknath Shinde and presented a poorly executed comedy; he added that ultimately, the audience will determine its success. Eknath Shinde is either a betrayer or someone who acts solely out of self-interest.

Further referring to Eknath Shinde As the successor to Balasaheb Thackeray's heritage, he challenged the opposition, querying if they had received a "commission" for their stance on the comedy performance.

This Kamra shared a picture of the Constitution on Twitter. If he had actually read the Constitution, he wouldn’t have perpetrated such acts," he further stated.

"Nobody has the authority to disrespect anyone. They may compose poetry or satirical pieces about us, however, if they choose to insult us, actions will be initiated. Therefore, do not hesitate; such behaviors won’t be condoned in Maharashtra," the Chief Minister further stated.

Shiv Sena has vehemently protested against Kamra's remarks. In the meantime, the opposition coalition in Maharashtra has lambasted the Mahayuti government over the deterioration of law and order.

Previously, the Mumbai Police issued a summons to the comedian, requesting his appearance before the investigating officer on Tuesday.

As per the Mumbai police Currently, Kamra is not in Mumbai. The MIDC police have filed a first information report against Kamra due to his comments made during a stand-up comedy performance. This case has been handed over to the Khar police for further investigation.
