Washington D.C., [USA], March 18 (ANI): The six-time Grammy award-winning artist James Taylor 'S songs will be part of a project called "Fire & Rain," penned by Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Tracy Letts According to The Hollywood Reporter.

It will be helmed by Tony Award-winning director David Cromer.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show is still in the initial development phase, and a production schedule has not been released yet. The project will be funded by Gail Berman, Sam Feldman, Michael Gorfaine, and Broadway theater proprietor Jimmy Nederlander.

It will be in collaboration with Frank Marshall and Jere Harris.

The name of the show originates from Taylor's famous song titled "Fire and Rain," which came out in 1970 as part of his sophomore album, Sweet Baby James.

The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This six-time Grammy Award winner, known for hits like 'You've Got a Friend' and 'Sweet Baby James,' has never before had their collection featured in a significant theater production, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Nonetheless, two tracks from his album Flag were included in the production of the musical Working.

Pulitzer laureate Letts penned the highly praised play "August: Osage County," along with "Killer Joe" and "Bug," all of which were later transformed into movies. Additionally, his work "Superior Donuts" was turned into a television series.

He has additionally received a Tony Award for playing George in the revamped version of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" and has appeared in movies like "Lady Bird," "Little Women," "The Post," and most recently in "Saturday Night," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Regarding Cromer, he was responsible for directing "Bug" and "Man from Nebraska," along with the 2009 Off-Broadway revival of "Our Town." Additionally, he helmed "The Band's Visit" on Broadway, earning a Tony Award for his excellent direction.

The Hollywood Reporter has stated that he is presently helming "Good Night, and GoodLuck" with George Clooney in lead at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre. (ANI)
