Earlier today, Chief Minister Yogi inaugurated and initiated multiple development projects totaling Rs 91 crore at the Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology in Gorakhpur.

He launched a grain-based distillery facility valued at Rs 1,200 crore as part of the ultra-large initiative at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) site.

At the event, Chief Minister Adityanath stated, “This facility isn’t merely a distillery; it’s an ethanol plant.” He further mentioned that during the initial stage, it will generate 3.5 lakh liters of ethanol per day, with plans to boost output to 5 lakh liters subsequently.

The Chief Minister stated that ethanol production in India has seen substantial growth -- increasing from 42 lakh liters initially to 177 crore liters -- following Prime Minister Modi’s approval for producing ethanol from excess sugarcane.

CM Yogi also pointed out the transformations in GIDA since the BJP-led administration took charge. He mentioned that GIDA has drawn investments totaling more than Rs 15,000 crore, indicating a significant shift from previous periods when establishing businesses was not of much interest. (ANI)
