Budget airline Wizz Air revealed plans to expand its activities in Moldova by deploying an extra plane at its Chișinău hub in October 2025 and introducing six new flight paths. This initiative aims to offer more than 393,000 additional seat options and bolster Moldova’s aviation links across Europe, according to the firm.
Beginning in late October, travelers can enjoy non-stop journeys from Chișinău to Milan-Bergamo, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Billund, Bari, Athens, and Maastricht.
Out of the new routes, five will run three times each week, whereas Milan-Bergamo will feature four weekly flights. Moreover, the carrier plans to boost the number of departures for both Paris Beauvais and Berlin services.
The tickets for the new routes can be found on the airline’s website and through their mobile application.
Overall, after adding a third plane to its fleet, Wizz Air will provide customers with non-stop flights to 27 destinations spanning 15 nations for the upcoming winter period. This includes well-liked routes like Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Brussels Charleroi, Vienna, Rome, London Luton, and Warsaw.
Andras Rado, who leads communications at Wizz Air, stated: "It fills me with pride that our airline is experiencing such rapid growth in Moldova by introducing a third plane along with numerous new routes within only half a year. This newly declared aircraft will provide roughly 393,000 more seat options each year for travelers flying into and out of Chișinău. I’m particularly delighted to share news about launching service to Maastricht—a distinctive addition to our flight offerings."
The airline is additionally looking to hire new staff members in Moldova, with recruitment set for an event on April 15.
