

Mumbai (Maharashtra), India, April 7 (ANI): The Phantom Stars concluded an impressive season by securing the first-ever TTSL Maharashtra championship, showcasing the best talent from Maharashtra alongside exceptional teamwork. They emerged victorious in every match throughout both the league and knockout rounds, culminating in a decisive 14-8 win over PBG Pune Jaguars in the final on Sunday. This perfect record underscored their dominance during the entire tournament.
The league also highlighted the future generation of table tennis Talent from Maharashtra was highlighted, with teenagers Divyanshi Bhowmick (PBG Pune Jaguars) and Prateek Tulsani (Mumbai Mozart) receiving the titles of Best Woman Player and Best Man Player respectively, according to a statement released by TTSL.
The journey with TTSL Maharashtra was incredible for me. In singles, I defeated all my rivals without losing a single game, and we claimed every doubles match too. Although our squad didn’t clinch the championship, which would’ve made it even more delightful, participating with PBG Pune Jaguars remained an outstanding experience. I’m eagerly looking forward to the upcoming season," shared 14-year-old Bhowmick, who joined TTSL Maharashtra following his performance at the main event of the WTT Star Contender Chennai 2025.
A program launched by Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) aimed at nurturing grassroots talents and boosting national-level state competitions, known as TTSL Maharashtra, offered a prestigious professional stage for the best table tennis players from the state. The event included a substantial prize fund of Rs 6.25 lakh—wherein the winners, Phantom Stars, received INR 3.5 lakh—and spanned four days at the NSCI venue in Mumbai. Six squads competed here, highlighting both new talents and strong competitiveness among participants.
Following their victory over the Century Warriors in the semifinals, Phantom Stars, who were aiming for the top spot, began the finals at a disadvantage after Senhora D'Souza lost the initial Women's Singles encounter to the experienced Reeth Rishya with a score of 2-1. Nevertheless, Deepit Patil, Arnav Kshirsagar, along with the duo of Aarav Vora and Onkar Jog, secured three consecutive 3-0 victories which brought Phantom Stars back into contention, putting them just one game away from claiming the championship title.
Even though PBG Pune Jaguars attempted a slight comeback, spearheaded by the talented Bhowmick, Phantom Stars maintained their advantage and secured their win via Kshirsagar and Swara Jangade in theMixed Doubles encounter.
In an earlier match today, Mumbai Mozartt made an impressive turnaround to secure third place in the TTSL Maharashtra. After losing the initial four games of the playoff for third place—all by a score of 2-1—Mumbai Mozartt mounted a fierce counterattack, winning each of the following four contests. The duo of Shubham Ambre and Taneesha Kotecha emerged victorious without dropping a game, achieving clean sweeps of 3-0 against their adversaries, which contributed significantly to their final victory with a scoreline of 14-9.
Notable standout players from various age divisions included Param Bhiwandkar (U-13 Boys), Swara Jangade (U-17 Girls), Arnav Kshirsagar (U-17 Boys), along with seasoned ace Onkar Jog—each leaving an indelible impression on the competition. In the senior categories, Pritha Vartikar (Mumbai Mozartt) and Deepit Patil (Phantom Stars), both slated to compete in UTT Season 6 in Ahmedabad starting May 29, received top honors for their respective women’s and men’s performances.
