New Delhi [India], Apr 19 (ANI): The Gujarat Titans ( GT Assistant coach Aashish Kapoor pointed out that even top cricketers might fall into poor techniques regarding fundamentals, whether in batting or bowling, particularly when they are excelling at their game.
"As cricketers whether it is a batsman or a bowler, over a period of time when you're doing well, you get into certain bad habits whether its batting or bowling, with your basics, and with Rashid I think it was his back which was hurting him last year where he had to do a surgery. Sometimes when you are in so much pain and you're still playing matches, you tend to do something with your action so that your pain is less," Aashish Kapoor said in the pre-match press conference.
"There have been several points discussed over the past year during our conversations, particularly after two or three matches, about needing some changes in his leading hand, as it tended to close up too much. This grip should face towards the batter at bowl release. He has since made these adjustments. Additionally, his recent deliveries have shown improved line and length in the last couple of games. With renewed self-assurance and securing a few wickets, I am confident he will revert to being the same dynamic Rashid Khan we know," he concluded.
Kapoor additionally addressed Rabada's absence from the squad.
"We are simply awaiting Rabada; he may come back soon. He has encountered some family and personal issues that have caused his departure. If these matters get resolved promptly, he should return. However, we aren’t sure of the timing yet. Everyone here is just patiently waiting," he explained further.
