The agency mentioned that the cold medicine includes diphenhydramine—an antihistamine utilized to alleviate allergy, hay fever, and common cold symptoms.
However, as per the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, items with diphenhydramine must be enclosed in special child-resistant packaging to prevent poisoning.
